Inter’s Derby d’Italia against Juventus next weekend will be the most important meeting between the two sides in the last ten years, according to Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how Juventus are currently not at full potential after a sluggish start to the season, with their disappointing draw against Fiorentina earlier this month leaving them two points behind Antonio Conte’s Inter.
Inter, on the other hand, have only improved since the start of the season, with the first half against Sampdoria being some of their best football so far since the arrival of Antonio Conte earlier this summer. Despite the messy second half, Conte will be hoping next week’s challenge against Barcelona will prepare the Nerazzurri for the derby against Juventus.
Although Juventus may remain the favourites to win this season’s scudetto, a derby victory against the Bianconeri next week puts Conte’s squad five points above the Bianconeri after seven games, a big difference early in the season.
