Inter’s midfielders were the stars of the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 victory over Sampdoria last night, writes Rome based newspaper la Repubblica.
The Nerazzurri’s first half performance was some of their best football since the arrival of coach Antonio Conte earlier this summer, with former Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi dominating midfield. The 24-year-old Italian’s strong ball control and ability to keep possession under pressure left Sampdoria’s midfielders scratching their heads.
Sensi both scored a goal and provided an assist in the game, reminding fans that he is the breakout star of the season so far. Roberto Gagliardini had a strong game as well, culminating in his goal, which killed off Sampdoria’s hopes after their brief revitalisation.
Finally, Marcelo Brozovic was playing with ease last night, not missing a pass as he dictated play forwards.
Inter are currently top of the league table following their victory, with last night’s win being their six consecutive victory in the league.
