Former Napoli and Inter coach Ottavio Bianchi warned the Nerazzurri of Napoli in the title race when speaking to Milano based newspaper la Gazzetta dello Sport today.
“Napoli can win the Scudetto: the time has come; it can be their year. But be careful of Brescia, which will do everything to save themselves.”
When asked about his prediction, Bianchi warned Napoli of more disappointing losses.
“Napoli can’t afford to take any more disappointments after the one against Cagliari if they want to win the title.”
Finally, Bianchi discussed Napoli’s growth as a squad over the last few years.
“They’re a serious candidate. For years they’ve always been on the top, always on the podium behind Juve, which this year has their own problems to solve: a new coach, a squad that’s too big.”
“It’s not easy to leave players of that value at home. In Naples the skeleton of the team has remained the same, there are also adequate spare parts. They can do it.”
Inter are currently top of the league table after a perfect start, with Juventus two points behind in second place. Napoli are currently nine points behind the Nerazzurri, but a win this afternoon will bring them within six points of Conte’s squad.
