Antonio Conte was left impressed by Alessandro Bastoni’s Inter debut in the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 victory over Sampdoria at the weekend according to a report from Rome based news outlet Corriere dello Sport.
Despite picking up a booking early doors at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, Bastoni more than held his own for the remainder of the game and looked extremely composed for being just 20-years-old.
Bastoni is in fact Inter’s only central defender who is left footed and having proved himself in his Inter debut, Conte now knows that he has an extra resource available to him who is more than capable of performing.
Inter forked out €31 million between the initial fee and bonuses for the Italian youth international to sign him back in 2017 from Atalanta.
Bastoni spent last season getting regular game time out on loan at Parma and as evidenced by his performance on Saturday, really benefited from the experience.
