Inter and Juventus will be unable to set a new Serie A record for revenue generated by a single match according to a report from FCInter1908.it.

No less than 72,000 tickets have already been sold for the first Derby D’Italia of the season, which will take place at San Siro on Sunday night.

However, due to a few sections in the third tier beings closed for safety reasons, the two clubs will not be able to celebrate a ticket revenue record. The current record of €5.7 million was set following a Milan derby in recent seasons.

Only tickets in the first tier remain for the much anticipated match that will pit the two great rivals against one another. Inter will extend their lead at the top with a victory but Juventus could take over at the top if they are to win.

The report goes on to state that Inter’s average attendance will jump from 59,000 to 63,000 after their match with the Bianconeri.
