Former Italian international goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani believes that Inter could make themselves favourites for the Serie A title if they are to be victorious over arch-rivals Juventus in this weekend’s Derby D’Italia match-up at San Siro.
“If Inter were to win, they would be on five points more than Juventus but there is still a long way to go in the season. Conte’s enthusiasm can however make the difference and whilst Inter are not Scudetto favourites today, if they win…,” he said in an interview with Sky Sport show Sky Calcio Club.
Heading into this match, Inter lead the way at the top of Serie A having won all six of their matches to date. They have a two point lead over Juventus, who have reigned supreme over Italian football in recent years.
The match, which is heading toward a complete sell-out, is due to take place this coming Sunday with kick-off scheduled for 20:45
