Tuttosport have praised Alessandro Bastoni off the back of him making his Inter debut in Saturday night’s 3-1 victory over Sampdoria.

“Up until a few weeks ago Bastoni was considered by most to be a Mr. Plusvalenza. Purchased in August 2017 from Atalanta for €30.9 million, the 21-year-old defender remained in Bergamo for a season and then loaned to Parma last season,” the report from the Turin based news outlet begins.

“Few people thought that Bastoni could carve out a space between Godin, De Vrij and Skriniar, but Conte wanted to keep him around – due to him being left footed – and he showed his qualities in the match against Sampdoria. Half of Serie A asked for him but while he will surely be the future for Inter, he can also play a part in the present.”

The youngster forms part of the Italian contingent at the club, many of whom have made a real impact this season, particularly Stefano Sensi.
