Tomorrow’s match between Barcelona and Inter will see close friends Antoine Griezmann and Diego Godin have to put their friendship aside, a report from Corriere dello Sport details.

The duo see one another almost like a brother and it was Godin who in fact convinced Griezmann to remain at Atletico Madrid when Barcelona came in for him back in 2018.

Their relationship is so strong in fact that had Godin not decided to leave the Spanish capital club when his contract expired at the end of the season and instead signed a new deal, then Griezmann would not have left Los Colchoneros either this Summer.

Despite both leaving for pastures new, their rapport with one another has not changed whatsoever but tomorrow, for 90 minutes, they will have to become enemies so to give their respective new employers the best chance at success.

Both clubs drew their opening Champions League fixtures and will be keen to get their first win on the board in what looks set to be a group that will go down to the wire.
