Journalist Roberto Perrone has shared his views on why he believes Juventus have lodged a fresh appeal against the decision to award Inter the 2005/06 Serie A title, a decision that came as a result of the Calciopoli scandal that rocked Italian football in the mid-2000s.

“Juventus have made another appeal as this battle between Inter-Juventus is not like any other, it’s something new, because you have Beppe Marotta and Antonio Conte on the side of Juventus’ great enemies. This year the danger that comes from black and blue part of Milan is more serious than ever before. This year, Inter are aiming for the Scudetto with Conte at the helm and Juventus never want to lose.,” he wrote in a column for Corriere dello Sport.

“Therefore the appeal, rather than aiming for the 2006 decision to be overturned, which will never happen, is aimed at putting pressure on Inter with the idea that Juventus does not give up on anything, not even a title from 13 years ago.”

He concluded his analysis: “Whilst the relationship between the two presidents is excellent, Juventus wants to continue to stay in front of Inter, who are ahead of them in the table. They are ready to do everything possible.”
