Inter CEO Beppe Marotta believes that the fact that Lionel Messi starts for Barcelona will assure that the match will be of the highest quality, he told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia moments ago.
“We are very proud of being able to participate in the most important competition in the world. We have respect for Barcelona but we want to compete with them until the end, Messi’s presence on the pitch raises the level to the highest quality.”
“We are sad that Lukaku isn’t here because the matches are almost 100 minutes long and it is important to have options off the bench, but the player has suffered a strain and as a precaution not to worsen it, we want him to come back as soon as possible.”
“We have changed a lot bringing in a new coach and new players, today we have 4 new signings on the pitch, two from smaller clubs. This is an important test to show how they have grown from a tactical and technical point of view. I am convinced that we will give a good performance.”
“We are double happy [about Barella and Sensi’s performances] because they are Italian. We want to give our contribution to Mancini’s group who we hope can lead the National team to great things.”
“I am very proud of us, the work that Conte has done, you can see that in the quality of the play and the results. This group has margins left to improve and step by step we can achieve great things.”
