Spanish news outlet Sport report that Lionel Messi will start in tonight’s Champions League group stage clash for Barcelona at home to Inter.

The multi-time world player of the year sustained a thigh injury in Barcelona’s recent win over Villarreal and a lot of the coverage leading up to this game has been dominated by whether or not Messi will be available or not but Sport understand he will be available and will be playing from the first minute,

Messi’s inclusion in Ernesto Valverde’s starting XI will be one of two changes made to the side that started the 2-0 away win against Getafe, this past weekend.

Messi will come in in place of Carles Perez whilst the other change will see Ruben Semedo come in for Sergi Roberto at right back.

Predicted Barcelona starting XI (4-3-3): Marc Andre Ter Stegen; Ruben Semedo, Gerard Piqué, Clement Lenglet, Junior Firpo; Frenkie De Jong, Sergio Busquets, Arthur; Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann
