Former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta has sang the praises of several Inter players for their performances in Inter’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League group stage.
“Barcelona had to score two extraordinary goals in order to win. Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella were both very good but there were several other players who played a great match too: Lautaro Martinez, the three defenders and Antonio Candreva,” he said in an interview with Sky Sport.
He was then asked whether he thinks Inter should have been awarded a penalty shortly before the hour mark when Arthur appeared to foul Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi in the box.
“For me it was a penalty, I said it at the time when I was watching it live.”
