Lautaro Martinez has shared his regret at Inter’s failure to make the most of the chances that they had in their 2-1 loss to Barcelona last night

“My goal must be put aside. We had to win the match and we were doing very well, but it ended with great bitterness. We had to capitalise on some of the chances that we created,” he explained in an interview with ESPN.

He was then very complimnentary toward compatriot Lionel Messi, who he swapped shirts with at the full time whistle.

“Messi is the best player in the world. It is difficult to beat Barça when Messi is on the pitch. You cannot give him an inch because otherwise the game gets out of hand.”
