Italian television host and devoted Inter fan Paolo Bonolis has shared his views on foreign ownership in Italian football, taking a particular look at Inter’s owners Suning.

“Suning are an important Chinese brand who are trying to break into the Western world and have chosen Inter as its driving force,” he said in an interview with SoccerMagazine.

“There is nothing wrong with them bringing money to Italy that will also produce work for people. The reality however is, that for the moment, it seems to me that there is still some mistrust which does not allow for this sort of entrepreneurial activity to do what it would like to do.”

He then spoke on Inter’s upcoming Derby D’Italia match-up against Juventus, which will be Conte’s first match against his former employers.

“The problem is not Conte being at the Nerazzurri, the problem is the Juventus squad. Conte at the Nerazzurri is a solution, not a problem. The Juventus squad is very important but Inter have a few players who can make a difference. They have two players in Marcelo Brozovic and Stefano Sensi who can manage the tempo of the game.”

He concluded: “Inter is able to catch up with all the others. As long as there is this small gap there must be hope that it is not necessary to have to replace, change or reason about formulas different from the 12-13 starters.”
