Sunday’s Derby D’Italia will see two teams with a combined annual salary bill of almost half a billion according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Juventus and Inter have the two largest wage bills in Italian football and this is with thanks to the significant turnovers which they produce.

There is a big gap between the two clubs with Juventus paying out almost twice as much as Inter are when it comes to wages and this should not be any real surprise given Cristiano Ronaldo is on €31 million alone and Inter’s highest earner is Romelu Lukaku on €8 million and have no other players above the €6 million mark.

The two clubs combined wage bills though do not even meet the wage bills of some clubs on their own. Barcelona pay out €671 million in wages per year and Real Madrid €641 million for example.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that Juventus’s wage bill does in fact exceed the highest franchise salaries in the NFL, NBA and MLB too.
