Paris Saint Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has sang the praises of on-loan striker Mauro Icardi ahead of the capital club’s match at home to Angers tomorrow.

“He can open up spaces on the pitch and make an impact in the final third. He has the quality to score and be decisive in matches,” the German, who has been in charge of the Parc des Princes club since May 2018, remarked at the pre-match press conference ahead of the match.

“He has not trained much with us but it is clear to me that he is very careful in the movements he makes with and without ball. He is a player that gives stability to the team.”

Icardi joined the reigning Ligue 1 champions on the final day of the Summer transfer window on a season long loan deal from Inter and has since went on to play three games, in which he has contributed one goal.
