Tonight’s Derby d’Italia is only a continuation of an ongoing battle between Inter and Juventus, highlights Milano based newspaper la Gazzetta dello Sport, with the first clash coming earlier in the summer for former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku.

The report details how there are already two more off pitch battles ahead of the duo, first for Fiorentina starlet Federico Chiesa. The 21-year-old Fiorentina winger is a transfer target of both sides, with both Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and Juventus Sporting Director Fabio Paratici keen to beat their rivals to his signature.

The other off pitch battle in the transfer market is for Brescia teenager Sandro Tonali, who’s incredible performances with the newly promoted side have seen him become one of the most exciting midfielders in Italy.

Marotta is keen to continue the Nerazzurri’s work in the summer of strengthening the midfield and Tonali is key to that, with Marotta hoping to add to the squad’s incredible pairing of Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella.

The Bianconeri, on the other hand, have been working their hardest to secure both Tonali and Chiesa before any of their rivals, but the work of Inter to thwart these efforts has so far been successful.
