The rise of Inter is mainly due to the work completed by Steven Zhang and Suning, according to Milano based newspaper la Gazzetta dello Sport, with the paper highlighting the similarities and differences between the owners of Juventus and Inter.

Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli took over a disappointing Juventus in 2010 and less than a decade later the squad is the best in Italy and won of the best teams in Europe. The 43-year-old Italian businessman appreciates the world of football and the importance of attracting new fans across the world.

Inter’s President, Steven Zhang, was sent to Milan by his father Jindong in 2016 and became the club’s president last year. He quickly started to understand the Nerazzurri fans and their dreams for the club, working hard to both improve the club and their global presence.

The Nerazzurri, guided by Zhang, are still behind the Bianconeri, however. The two clubs are separated by more than €100 million in revenue – €494 million for Juventus and €375 million for Inter and by 60 million followers on social media – 84.2 million for the Bianconeri and 23.7 million for the Nerazzurri. Despite this, Zhang is keen to push the Nerazzurri further and help the club close the gap between themselves and Juventus.
