Luciano Spalletti has given the green light to become AC Milan’s next manager according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.

Spalletti, who managed Inter for two years, will be replacing Marco Giampaolo on the bench of the Rossoneri after the former Sampdoria boss has had a torrid start, losing four of Milan’s opening seven fixtures in Serie A.

It is now up to AC Milan to agree terms with Inter, who Spalletti is still getting paid by until 2021, despite being sacked in the Summer.

The two clubs leaderships are in contact at this moment and without any agreement, the Rossoneri’s bid to land Spalletti will collapse.

If they are to reach an agreement, the report goes on to state that Spalletti will put pen to paper on a three year contract to become the manager of Il Diavolo.

If not and things collapse, other reports in the media have linked Milan with another former Inter manager in Stefano Pioli.
