Former Inter striker Aldo Serena has appeared to criticise Inter manager Antonio Conte for not bigging his players up enough and making them feel better than they truly are off the back of the Nerazzurri’s first league defeat of the season to arch-rivals Juventus this past weekend.

“I almost always share the seem feelings about what Conte says. One of my coaches used to say: my players must think and feel that they are the best, even if in reality it is another thing. In a season there is often the need for everyone to contribute,” he posted to Twitter.

Serena also hit out at fans who have been giving Matias Vecino a hard time, given his poor performances off of the bench in recent weeks.

“Publicly saying that the changes and the substitutes bench is much worse than Juventus? How would you feel if you were Matias Vecino? Among other things Vecino took Inter back to the Champions League not long ago.”
