Diego Godin has revealed that a slight injury has been behind his poor performances in each of Inter’s past two games against Barcelona and Juventus.

“I had a small knee problem, nothing too serious. Now it will be evaluated by the Uruguayan national team medical staff, but I feel fine,” he said in an interview with Uruguayan news outlet Sport890.

“I am adapting to a new system, to a new kind of football. It is a good experience. I have joined a fantastic club by going to Inter, with a great manager at the helm.”

He then spoke on Uruguay’s international friendly double header against Peru.

“They will be two hard fought matches against them, they have shown over the years that they are doing well as we have seen in the Copa America. They will be beautiful matches, we must give everything on the field to prepare ourselves for the qualifiers.”
