Inter and AC Milan will today meet with residents of the San Siro district to hear their concerns and feedback relating to their proposed new stadium according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Officials from the two clubs will meet with residents at 6:30 local time tonight at town hall 7, which is in very close proximity to the club’s current San Siro stadium.

The clubs will also further explain their €1.2 billion project for the area that aside from the stadium will include a shopping area and other entertainment areas.

The report goes on to explain that residents are currently sceptical and this could well influence the city council who originally had a deadline of October 10 to declare a public interest in the project but now have a deadline of October 14.

The city council themselves have their doubts about the project, especially the planned demolition of San Siro and whilst the two clubs wish to remain in the same district, if they cannot get what they are looking for, it cannot be ruled out that they move to the Sesto San Giovanni area of the city, where there is private land on offer which would mean they can do as they wish.
