Missing out on both Fernando Llorente and Arturo Vidal during the Summer transfer window remains a real regret of Inter manager Antonio Conte’s according to a report from Tuttosport.
Conte strongly wanted Llorente brought in to act as deputy to Romelu Lukaku but was denied as Inter management deemed the attacking department to be complete after Alexis Sanchez’s arrival.
Llorente ended up joining fellow Serie A side Napoli on transfer deadline day and has scored three goals in seven appearances for the Partenopei.
The veteran Spaniard could have come in particularly useful in Inter’s past two games where attacking options were limited due to Romelu Lukaku being injured for one of the matches and the aforementioned Sanchez being suspended for the other.
As for Vidal, the Chilean showed his worth and changed the game off the bench for Barcelona as the Blaugrana came from behind to beat Inter 2-1 on Wednesday night in the Champions League.
Against Juventus, when Stefano Sensi was forced off injured, they could have done with a Vidal to replace him but instead they had to bring on Matias Vecino instead.
