Following this past Sunday’s first Derby D’Italia of the season, Corriere dello Sport have compared the respective squads of Inter and Juventus and created a combined starting XI.

Samir Handanovic is regarded as better than his opposite number at Juventus in Wojciech Szczesny and would be just one of two players to start for Juventus if the team’s were combined today. The other players is Milan Skriniar but this is only because of Giorgio Chiellini currently being out injured.

Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro are both deemed to be better than Inter’s wing backs Danilo D’Ambrosio and Kwadwo Asamoah.

In midfield, Miralem Pjanic is ahead of Inter’s regista Marcelo Brozovic. Sami Khedira and Blaise Matuidi are ahead of Inter’s Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella too.

although the Rome based news outlet do state that if they were to do this a year down the line, it would undoubtedly be Sensi and Barella they’d be picking. The experience that both Khedira and Matuidi can boast is the difference maker here.

Then in the attack, Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez are not equal to any of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain or Paulo Dybala.
