Corriere dello Sport have taken a look at Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s struggles against Juventus in the Derby D’Italia this past weekend.

“The Belgian had done the impossible to make himself available against Juventus. The great effort he put in in the days before the big match allowed him to go on the pitch but he was not as brilliant as he would have liked to have been,” the report explains.

“He lacked the lucidity to play the decisive pass or a take a scoring shot or provide an assist. He did not perform as he hoped to and he was also bitter for how far off he was Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala, who he could have replaced in Turin in the Summer.”

Since his club record transfer fee arrival from Premier League outfit Manchester United, Lukaku has netted three goals in eight appearances across all competitions for the club.
