Inter and AC Milan currently prefer the new stadium plan put together by American architecture firm Populous according to a report from Turin based news outlet Tuttosport.

A decision on the winning project was expected to arrive two to three weeks after the public presentation of both the Populous plan and the joint plan by Davide Manica and Cmr Sportium at the end of September meaning that decision will soon be made.

The two clubs prefer the plan by Populous, known as ‘The Cathedral’, due to the fact it would be instantly recognisable and unique to anything else out there currently.

Despite receiving a lot of scrutiny from the Milan city council and local residents in the San Siro district, the two clubs refuse to be put off the idea of building a new stadium and at last night’s meeting with the residents, ruled out the possibility of the two clubs current San Siro home being renovated.
