Inter will make a move for a big-name midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The last few weeks have shown that Inter are lacking quality depth in the midfield department and the Nerazzurri understandably wish to change this as soon as possible.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has already began the process of scouting out potential additions, with one such idea being Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal.

The Chilean is a player that Inter drew strong links with back in the Summer transfer window and Inter appear to have maintained their interest in him.

Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a long term target of the Nerazzurri as is Brescia’s young starlet Sandro Tonali, who is expected to become one of Italy’s best midfielders in the coming years. Ajax’s Donny van de Beek is the fourth name so far that Marotta has in mind to strengthen Inter’s midfield.
