Inter could end up making a capital gain should Luciano Spalletti find new employment before his contract with the club expires in 2021 according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
City rivals AC Milan had tried to appoint Spalletti but due to Spalletti being unable to agree terms with Inter to terminate his contract, they were forced to abandon their pursuit of him and instead went for Stefano Pioli, who they appointed earlier today.
Inter were able to be in a position wherein they could stand firm and not succumb to Spalletti’s demands with thanks to the fact the club included the sackings of him and his coaching staff on the budget which ended on June 30.
As a result of this, Spalletti and his staff’s wages have little to no bearing on the current budget, therefore meaning that Inter will be making a capital gain due to the savings they will make if Spalletti finds a new job.
