Noted journalist Mario Sconcerti has made the claim that he thinks Inter manager Antonio Conte and Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini are on a par with one another.

“We speak quite rightly about Antonio Conte and all his qualities, but it is not clear to me where Gian Piero Gasperini is inferior to him when it comes to motivating his players and above all in the fitness and technical preparation of the players,” he said in an interview with Milan based news outlet Corriere della Sera.

“Atalanta work like few others do. Yes they have lost in the Champions League, that is true, but in eight Champions League games the Italians have won only three this season. Atalanta can try for the Scudetto.”

After seven Serie A games this season just two points separate Conte’s side in second place and Gasperini’s team in third place with Inter on 18 points and Atalanta on 16.
