Valentino Lazaro has spoken on his development since joining Inter and shared his hopes to see more action on the pitch in the coming weeks.

“When you find yourself playing in the same week against Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, you can only be happy. For me it is only the beginning in great football, I am only 23 years old. I hope I can grow and establish myself as soon as possible,” he said in an interview with LaOlaTV.

“Every player would always like to be on the pitch, of course I have my own personal ambitions. For me it’s just a matter of showing the coach in the coming weeks that I can play so well.

“Obviously it’s always nice for a player when the team wins, but of course the chances of playing diminish. I train with the team every day, I know what the coach wants, and I still get great feedback. The trust is there and I hope to be able to make the most of my chances, which I am sure I will have in the coming weeks.”

He concluded by discussing the differences between Inter and previous employers Hertha Berlin: “The quality is higher and, as a player, I am developing in almost every training session, which is quite normal if you have a coach with so much experience and know-how or team-mates like the ones I met since I came to Milan.

“I hope to be able to grow again when I get my chance. Italian football is more tactical, we train for longer. Sometimes we spend two hours on the pitch and this is partly why I am growing so much.”
