Inter chief executive Alessandro Antonello has shared his views on the the local authorities suggestion for Inter and AC Milan to consider the renovation of San Siro rather than proceed with their plans to build a new state-of-the-art stadium.

“We are surprised about the opinion of the local authorities on San Siro. A few months ago, around April, we had a meeting with them which seemed to be the object of no constraints,” he said in an interview with TGR Lombardia.

“We want to understand a little better, we are open to talking with them. We will be pleased to meet with them again.”

Antonello proceeded to confirm that the clubs currently have no back-up plans.

“Plan B? For us, the only project is a new stadium in the San Siro district. We will take the next steps together with the institutions and we will try to understand if this goal will still be feasible.”
