Lautaro Martinez has shared his thoughts and feelings on Argentina’s performance against Germany whilst also targeting improvement at club level with Inter.

“We knew we would be facing a strong team in Germany. In the first half we did not do well and suffered as we conceded two goals but in the second half we took control of the game, pressed them and we played better,” he said in an interview with Sport Mediaset.

“I feel a great deal of responsibility, I know what it means to represent Argentine and therefore I try to give my best in every game and prepare myself the best when I go on the pitch. I want to do well at Inter to be able to stay in the national team, which I will give everything for.”

He was then asked about Inter’s most recent match, a 2-1 defeat in the Derby D’Italia against arch-rivals Juventus.

“For now I am focused on the National team. We will analyse the errors which led to the defeat. Juventus are a very strong team and I said that immediately after the game.

“We will continue to work to try and reach their level. The defeat is not being taken negatively but rather it is being seen as a stimulus to improve.”
