Romelu Lukaku could return early from international duty with Belgium to train with his Inter teammates ahead of the next match against Sassuolo according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lukaku reported for national team duty not in the best of conditions and is expected to play in tonight’s EURO 2020 qualifier against minnows San Marino and then be rested for the next match against Kazakhstan.

Due to the fact he will be rested, he could return to Inter’s Angelo Moratti Sports Centre training ground to follow a personalised training plan to get back in shape ahead of Inter’s next matches.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that a similar situation could occur with central defender Diego Godin, who turned up for Uruguay duty with an injury problem. Uruguay are set to play an international friendly double header with Peru in the coming days.
