In an interview with FCInter1908.it, Inter legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi is convinced that Inter can do really well this season off the back of their near perfect start in the league.

“After a defeat, there must always be growth from it. Juventus is ahead of Inter, they have been winning for so many years no. Inter however, are on their way, and played a good game against them.

“I liked the fact that at the end of the match the Nerazzurri recognised the superiority of their opponents. Now we need to look ahead and not make mistakes in the matches against the smaller teams. From what I understand and from the mentality and identity that the manager and club are giving the team, this is a team who can have a really good season.”

He then went on to speak further about Inter manager Antonio Conte.

“I have no doubt that Conte is the ideal manager for Inter. We have seen it since against Lugano that this team has an identity and this coach wants to work and bring Inter up to the top again.

“For these things to happen it takes time, even if we always want everything to happen immediately. If you can win in the first year, so much the better, otherwise there is a path to follow.”

He concluded by speaking about some of Inter’s Summer recruits.

“Lukaku? We must see more from him. As for Sensi, I knew he was a good player but the impact he has made went beyond my expectations. Barella is also growing.”
