The Milan city council have ordered an independent study into the possibility of San Siro being restructured according to a report from Tuttosport.
The council, at this stage anyway, appear firmly against Inter and AC Milan’s proposed new stadium which would replace San Siro, which both clubs insist is no longer fit for purpose and could not be renovated without losing all of its iconic features.
Despite the obvious advantages that a new stadium would bring not only to the clubs but to the city as well, there are many others detractors to the project, namely the residents in the San Siro district.
The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to state that Inter and AC Milan could still opt to leave the San Siro district and decide to construct their new stadium in the Sesto San Giovanni area of the city, where there is private land on offer, which would mean the clubs could do as they please on it.
