Inter forward Alexis Sanchez was taken off with a suspected ankle injury tonight as Chile drew 0-0 in a friendly with Colombia.

The 30-year-old left the pitch in the 88th minute, leaving Antonio Conte hoping for good news about the former Manchester United forward’s condition.

Chile coach Reinaldo Rueda spoke to radio station Radio Cooperativa to discuss the injury.

“Alexis seems to have suffered a small blow to the ankle,” he confirmed.

“Tomorrow we will evaluate all aspects more thoroughly. We played against an opponent with different physical qualities.”

Sanchez was forced to miss Inter’s clash against Juventus last weekend due to a suspension following his dismissal after a second yellow card against Sampdoria earlier last month.

This forced Conte to deploy 26-year-old Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku for the game, despite his lack of fitness.

Inter’s next game is against Sassuolo next weekend and the Nerazzurri will hope that Sanchez will be available to play if needed.
