Inter Forward Lautaro Martinez: “Antonio Conte Takes Care Of Every Detail”

Inter forward Lautaro Martinez spoke to ESPN yesterday to discuss his experiences playing under coach Antonio Conte and how the Argentinian national team is improving.

“Antonio Conte is a very demanding coach, and this is very important because it raises the level of all players. His work is comprehensive, and he takes care of every detail: from the physical aspects to the diet.”

“We are growing, we are improving from game to game. And Conte is very clear in what he asks of us.”

The 22-year-old touched on his work with the national team.

“I’m always happy to be part of the Albiceleste squad, it’s a privilege, but every time it’s an opportunity to prove yourself. There’s always room for improvement. The important thing is to all row in the same direction for the good of the team.”

“I thought I would play less [in the Copa America], frankly. Instead, I found a lot of playing time and of course I was happy. Now we have created a very good group and we have to use these friendly matches to prepare for the next official engagements.”

Finally, Lautaro joked about his level of Italian.

“I understand everything, I talk quietly with my team-mates, but the truth is that I’m a bit ashamed to speak it. But the important thing is that we understand each other on the pitch. Italian is a bit complicated to learn, but if you study it well you can understand it without any problems.”
