Inter are interested in two top midfielders in January following their strong start in the league, according to today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
With Arturo Vidal confirming his intention to stay at Barcelona this season, the Nerazzurri will have to look for other options to strengthen their midfield. The first of these is Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic.
Inter coach Antonio Conte coached Matic during his time at Chelsea and deployed the midfielder regularly as he won the league in his first season in South London, with the report highlighting that the 50-year-old Italian may look to reunite with the 31-year-old Serbian.
The other name highlighted by the report is Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic. The 31-year-old Croatian is unhappy with his current playing time this season in Spain, only starting once in nine games for the Blaugrana.
Due to his reported unhappiness, the Nerazzurri are keenly monitoring the situation and may approach the Catalan club soon in order to open negotiations.
