It is only mid-October but Inter have already identified two positions which they wish to strengthen in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report in today’s paper edition of Tuttosport.

Inter are looking to strengthen their midfield department, after it became clear it was lacking quality depth after the losses to Barcelona and Juventus in recent weeks. Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic is one idea as is Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic, a player Inter manager Antonio Conte had success with at Chelsea.

When it comes to the other position, Inter wish to pick-up a player who can play as back-up to club record transfer signing Romelu Lukaku.

Inter had targeted SPAL’s Andrea Petagna in the Summer but were unable to convince the Ferrara club to part ways with him.

They have now identified Udinese and Italian international Kevin Lasagna as an option that they could pursue although Tuttosport warn that the Bianconeri are unlikely to allow Lasagna, who has two goals this season, to go on the cheap.
