In an interview with CalcioMercato.it, respected journalist Paolo Condo has shared his hopes for the remainder of the Serie A season.
“I hope that it can be a good season, that in the end will be won by the best side and not with a gap such as last year’s. In direct matches, Juventus have quite clearly shown themselves to still be at a higher level for many reasons,” he said.
“If Inter resume beating the others as they had been doing perfectly before, they will remain close to the Bianconeri and for a long time too.”
He then spoke on how Juventus went about creating such the gap they did as they finished 11 points ahead of second placed Napoli and then 21 points ahead of Atalanta and Inter who finished third and fourth.
“Where did Juventus manage to make the gap? Not only in direct matches, but also due to the fact that with the medium to small teams they regularly picked up full points. In this sense, the Nerazzurri are doing their duty very well to fight to the end.”
Condo also discussed Stefano Sensi, who has somewhat surprisingly starred for Inter.
“He was already good at Cesena and Sassuolo but it is clear that when you can replicate the same things or do even better at a big club like Inter then it means that you are of a higher quality.
“Doing the same things at a mid-table team to a team that has title ambitions is not easy and this is something that many fail to do but Sensi has already passed the test.”
