In today’s paper edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, the Milanese news outlet have taken a look at how Inter’s players have fared in the first three months of the season.

Samir Handanovic, Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, Marcelo Brozovic and Romelu Lukaku have made up Antonio Conte’s core to the team and have almost always played, even when not 100% fit, which has been the case for Lukaku.

Diego Godin, Alexis Sanchez, Roberto Gagliardini, Matias Vecino and Valentino Lazaro make up the group of players that Gazzetta are expecting more from with none of them able to make the desired impact expected of them on a consistent basis and in some cases, an impact whatsoever.

Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella have been two of the biggest surprises of the season so far. Sensi has become a leader in the midfield whilst Barella has settled in well and shown that Inter were right to pursue him for so long.

Alessandro Bastoni’s performances have also surprised Conte, who would have no worries about starting him if it were not for Skriniar, de Vrij and Godin being ahead of him.

Danilo D’Ambrosio, Antonio Candreva, Kwadwo Asamoah, Matteo Politano and Andrea Ranocchia have all meanwhile proved to be pretty consistent performers and in the cases of Politano and Ranocchia, reliable replacements to the first options.
