Inter and AC Milan could order the two firms in the running to build their proposed new stadium to change aspects of their plans according to a report which appeared on the online edition of Corriere della Sera.

Both clubs have faced scrutiny from local residents and local councillors who are unhappy that they have decided against attempting to renovate their current San Siro home.

Therefore, as per the report, the two clubs could attempt to pacify those calling for San Siro renovation by asking the Populous group and Cmr-Manica to consider keeping more of San Siro as part of their grand plans.

It is suggested in the report that the stadium could be renovated to an extent where it could be kept in operation for youth team matches and women’s teams matches.

Alternatively, it has been suggested that parts of the San Siro could be used in the creation of the commercial district that will accompany the new stadium.
