In an interview with Rai 2 television show Domenica Sportiva, journalist Ciro Venerato has discussed the names that Inter are currently considering to strengthen their midfield in the upcoming January transfer window.

As per reports in the media, Inter wish to bolster their midfield department for the second half of the season and have drawn links to several players, including two from Barcelona.

“The first name on the wish list is Ivan Rakitic, more talks are to take place between Marotta and Bartomeu. The second option is Arturo Vidal, Conte’s protégé, while the third idea is Nemanja Matic, but it is more plausible that he would be signed in June on a free transfer,” Venerato explained.

Asked if Inter would make an attempt to bring in former player Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is set to leave LA Galaxy at the end of this year, he responded: “He is not in the Nerazzurri’s plans.”
