Axel Bakayoko has revealed he is working with the intention of getting back to Inter whilst out on loan in an interview with FCInterNews.it.

The 21-year-old Frenchman was loaned out to Swiss side FC St Gallen during the 2018 Summer transfer window and has, as a result of injury, been limited to just three appearances this season.

“I am feeling better, the worst of the injury is over. I have already started working with the team again and in about twenty days I will be available to the coach for selection,” he explained, talking on his current condition.

“My goal is to have consistency and build on the progress made last season: before the injury, I had always played. Without this problem, I would have already reached ten appearances.

“At the end of last season, St Gallen had presented me with the chance to stay and I was very happy to stay. I had other offers but my desire has always been to stay here in Switzerland because there is a good project. It was not my intention to change teams as I did not want to start all over again.”

He was then asked if he is in contact with any of the players currently at Inter.

“I am in contact with some players but in particular with Andreaw Gravillon, Cristian Kouamè and with Lucien Agoume: he trains all week with the first team and then plays for the Primavera.”

In conclusion he was asked on what his intentions for the future are come the end of this season.

“In June we will know: Inter are in control of me. I grew up in the Nerazzurri and returning to Milan is a dream and a goal for me.”
