Inter could move for Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report in today’s paper edition of Tuttosport.

The Frenchman has struggled for play time this season under Frank Lampard at Chelsea partly down to youngster Tammy Abraham’s good form but remains a staple of the French national team despite this and the fact he is 33-years-old.

His contract with the Premier League side is due to expire at the end of the season with several MLS clubs keen to pick him up then but the report suggests that until then, Giroud wants to remain playing in Europe and Inter could grant him that opportunity by signing him in January.

Inter manager Antonio Conte is a big fan of the former Arsenal striker and actually brought him to Chelsea whilst he was in charge of the London club.

Giroud is the latest of several names to have been linked to Inter to serve as back-up to Romelu Lukaku with the likes of Udinese’s Kevin Lasagna also mentioned in the media lately.
