Inter Women’s player Alice Regazzoli has taken to social media to share his disappointment after sustaining an injury in the Women’s Derby Della Madonnina yesterday.
Tests have confirmed that the 20-year-old midfielder has ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament and in all likelihood, her season will be over, just weeks after Inter Women began their maiden campaign in Serie A Femminile.
Regazzoli came through the youth ranks at the Nerazzurri and is also currently involved with the Italian women’s under 19 national team.
“The greatest happiness is never to fall, but to always recover after a fall…and I will do it with strength and determination. Thank you all for the kind words of comfort and the affection you have shown me,” she posted to her official Instagram account.
