Alexis Sanchez is facing at least and a month and a half out of action, regardless of the outcome of today’s meeting with a specialist about his injury according to a report in today’s paper edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Chilean sustained an injury to his ankle during the international break and tests conducted by Inter’s medical staff yesterday concluded that the exact injury is ‘a joint dislocation in his left ankle which has caused damage to the peroneus longus tendon.’

The club have sent the 30-year-old, who joined on a season long loan from Manchester United this Summer, to Barcelona, Spain, to meet with Professor Ramon Cugat, who will further examine him and decide if he need surgery or not.

In the best case scenario, where he would not require surgery, he will be out for around a month and a half. In the worst case scenario, wherein he would require surgery, the report claims it would keep him on the sidelines for around three months time.
