Inter Have More Representatives In Italy U17 Squad Than Any Other Team

Inter are the most represented team in Italy under 17 national team manager Carmine Nunziata’s 21-man squad for the upcoming Under 17 World Cup, a report from FCInterNews.it highlights.

A whole five of the squad are Inter players with those players being Lorenzo Pirola, Lorenzo Moretti, Riccardo Boscolo Chio, Gaetano Pio Oristanio and Wilfried Gnonto, who is currently just 15-years-old.

The most notable absentee from the squad is Sebastiano Esposito, who despite fit, has not been included in the squad at the request of Inter, who need the teen sensation around the first team due to injuries leaving them short in the attack.

The next most represented team in Nunziata’s side are Atalanta, who have three representatives in the team in Matteo Ruggeri, Samuele Giovane and Simone Panada.

Italy under 17’s begin their quest for World Cup glory this coming Monday with them set to play Solomon Islands with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 CET.
