German Bundesliga side Schalke are in advanced talks with Inter over the permanent transfer of striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa ahead of the January transfer window according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The two clubs have had multiple meetings to discuss the Brazilian, who joined Inter back in 2016, and it is understood that Schalke are willing to meet Inter’s €30 million demands for the 23-year-old.

Schalke are just the latest in a long line of clubs to have shown an interest in signing him whilst the likes of Flamengo, where he is currently on loan and Premier League outfit Crystal Palace among others have also got an interest in him.

Gabigol joined Flamengo on loan back in January and his loan deal is due to expire in December. He has absolutely made the most of the loan by getting his career back on track, scoring 33 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions.
