In an interview in today’s paper edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, Cmr Sportium director Massimo Roj has revealed yet more details of their project for Inter and AC Milan’s new stadium and firstly discussed why they wish to keep the San Siro pitch intact.
“By preserving the San Siro pitch we will make it a gift to the city and everyone will be able to say that they have played at San Siro,” he said.
“The intertwined rings are born from the heart. Ours is a project that comes from the knowledge of our city and the area. It is a project designed for the fans. For this reason the two rings that symbolise the union of the clubs will have the faces of 16,000 supporters of Inter and Milan.
“The outside of the new stadium will have a life of its own even when the games are not played, because the panels with people’s faces will move thanks to the wind to create something unique in the world.
“The redevelopment of the San Siro area is important: our goal is to create something useful for those who live in the stadium area, with greenery and a large park.”
He concluded by adding: “At the west entrance of the new stadium there will also be another reference to the Meazza, that is the wall with all the trophies won by the clubs. There will also be a new museum under the stadium and the possibility of the colours being changed.”
